COMMODITY MARKET REPORT (10th-17th May, 2019)

BEANS

The above result speaks to changes in the price of Beans in the last one week in major markets in Nigeria. Result indicates a relatively constant price in wholesale and retail price for the past one week with only slight variances in Dawanau market Kano state. For better pricing of the beans, minimum price can be obtained in Gombe main market, Gombe state

MAIZE

Results show variance in the price of maize in key markets in Nigeria. Result indicates a relatively constant price (wholesale and retail) of Maize in the major market with higher price variance occurring in Bodija market in Oyo state. It moreover indicates higher prices in Anambra state which reflect prices in South-Eastern State of the country. Minimum prices of maize can be obtained in Dawanau market Kano state.

SORGHUM

Result shows variance in price of Sorghum in the key market in Nigeria. It indicates a relatively consistent prices in the major market except in Bodija Market in Oyo State where there is a higher variance in retail price as compared to last week price. Highest pricing occurred in Bodija market in Oyo state. For better pricing of commodities, minimum Sorghum prices can be obtained in Gombe Main market, Gombe State.

PADDY RICE

The above result indicates the average price of paddy Rice in Nigeria. This week, result shows an increase in the wholesale price of Paddy rice as a result of decrease in its availability. Prices are projected to keep increasing during the harvest season. For better pricing, lowest prices of Paddy Rice can be gotten from Tyio-Tyu Benue State.

SOYBEAN

The above result indicates the average prices of Soybean in Nigeria. This week, there was a decrease in the wholesale price of Soybean as a result of the increase in its availability and by law of demand and supply. Lowest prices of Soybean can be gotten from Kwaya Kusar, Borno State.

GINGER

Result shows the prices of Ginger commodity in Nigeria. Result indicates a constant average price both for wholesale and retail prices. Minimum prices however were recorded in Biu Borno State.
